    About ATX Lymphatics

We are a group of Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapists providing treatments throughout the Austin area.  Each therapist has her own private practice and may provide treatments at their office, in hospitals as well as in our patients’ homes.

We created ATX Lymphatics as a platform for those looking for lymphatic massage because it is not a treatment you can find in your everyday spa. As highly skilled therapists we wanted to make it easier for you to find the therapist that best fits your health needs.  Please visit the Lymphatic Specialists page to learn more about each therapists’ specialties.

    ATX Lymphatics' therapists are:

    • Licensed in the state of Texas,
    • Insured by American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) and/or Associated Bodywork & Massage Professional (ABMP),

    What is Manual Lymphatic Drainage?

MLD is a gentle, non-invasive manual technique that uses specific movements that act as an external pump to direct lymphatic fluid through lymph channels and enhance the release of toxins. It can re-direct fluid around blocked areas (ex: in the treatment of lymphedema or when scar tissue is present) into healthy lymph vessels, which then drain into the venous system. MLD also has a soothing and analgesic effect on the body.

How can Manual Lymphatic Drainage Benefit Me?

Lymphatic drainage seems to promote tissue regeneration, which could reduce the possible formation and severity of scars including hard nodules or "lumps."

MLD has many benefits for pre and post surgery patients including:

    •  preparation of tissue for surgery
    •  induces a state of relaxation
    •  stimulation of the immune system
    • prevent or alleviate edema or swelling
    • pain reduction
    • stimulates the immune system and helps prevent post-surgical infections
    • improves skin regeneration
